A record num­ber of mem­bers of the Queen of Peace Ad­ven­ture Youth Club par­tic­i­pated in the club night climb on the Small Su­gar­loaf Moun­tain. On the sum­mit the thirty climbers turned off all their lights, and re­mained silent for half a minute as they gazed at the night scene above and be­low. Next ma­jor climb will be Djouce Moun­tain.

Parish Li­turgy Group: Any­one in­ter­ested in join­ing this Group can con­tact Fr. Larry and thus as­sist the Group to pro­vide Masses that truly cel­e­brate our faith and en­rich the life of the Parish.

Lent: Lent com­mences to­day (Wed­nes­day) Ash Wed­nes­day and ashes will be blessed and dis­trib­uted at the 10am, 11.30am ( School Mass) and 1.05pm Masses. Lent is an op­por­tu­nity to deepen and ex­plore the mem­ory of our faith. It can be dif­fi­cult to keep our faith alive in these dif­fi­cult eco­nomic times and the cri­sis in our Church.

We have pro­vided a menu of pos­si­ble op­tions dur­ing Lent. We may give up some­thing or do some­thing ex­tra, Have a look at the front page of last week's news­let­ter as you will find some­thing that will nour­ish your spirit and soul. Don't miss the op­por­tu­nity.

Fam­ily In­di­vid­ual Prayer Dur­ing Lent: This is an op­por­tu­nity to spend 15/20 min­utes in prayer once a week as a fam­ily or in­di­vid­ual. We will pro­vide a Prayer Leaflet, Can­dle, copy of St. Luke's Gospel and a Tro­caire Box. If you wish to take part, please place your name and ad­dress on the sheet at the back of the Church as a sign of your com­mit­ment.

First Holy Com­mu­nion: Next Mon­day night there will be meet­ing for all par­ent of chil­dren re­ceiv­ing their First Holy Com­mu­nion in May at 7.30pm in the Parish Cen­tre and all par­ents are asked to at­tend.

Se­niors Bingo: This takes place on Wed­nes­day af­ter­noons from 2pm to 4pm in the Villa Pacis - all wel­come.

Charis­matic Prayer Group: This Group meets on Thurs­day nights at 8pm in the Villa Pacis.

Bap­tism: Bap­tisms take place on Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on the 2nd Sun­day of the Month.

Re­minder: On Satur­day the fi­nal Con­fir­ma­tion Prepa­ra­tion Mass will take place at 6.30pm in the Church and all Con­fir­ma­tion can­di­dates and their fam­i­lies are in­vited to at­tend.

CASA: CASA (The Car­ing and Shar­ing As­so­ci­a­tion) wish to thank parish­ioners for their gen­eros­ity to their re­cent col­lec­tion which raised €465.

Bugisi Mis­sion Pro­ject: To en­cour­age stu­dents to per­se­vere and work hard, Sr. Anne's school has in­tro­duced a schol­ar­ship scheme , The news about Fr. Bembo is not good and we are all asked to pray for him. The drought con­tin­ues with short­ages in food and wa­ter.

2011 Holy Land Pil­grim­age: The Parish Pil­grim­age to the Holy Land will take place from Mon­day May 23rd to Tues­day May 31st 2011. The cost is €1150 per per­son shar­ing, Half Board. Non-re­fund­able book­ing de­posit €250 - lim­ited num­bers. Those in­ter­ested are asked to con­tact the Parish Of­fice or Fr. Larry on 01-286 2346.

2011 Lour­des Pil­grim­age: This will take place from Septem­ber 7th to Septem­ber 12th. To­tal cost €689 - De­posit Cost €50. Fur­ther de­tails from 01-2745497 be­tween 10am and 1pm.

Book­ing of Masses: Mass Cards and the book­ing of Masses will be looked af­ter in St. Lau­rence's Of­fice in the Villa Pacis (be­side the Parish Of­fice). If you are un­able to get the date you re­quire, per­haps it may help to have the per­son in­cluded in the Mass on that date.

New Hymn Books: New hymn books have been pur­chased and will be avail­able all around the Church. Please use them at Mass as singing is very im­por­tant for our cel­e­bra­tions. Please do not re­move them from the Church.

World Youth Day: 5 young peo­ple from the parish will be at­tend­ing this event in Madrid, Spain, in Au­gust -Shane Whe­lan, Bent­ley Park; Fiona Do­herty, Seacrest; Is­abella Veale, Avoca Drive; Laura Green, Wood­brook Lawn; and Zahraa Mo­hamed, Put­land Vil­las. Please pray for them as they pre­pare for this pil­grim­age.

Prayer Cards for Con­fir­ma­tion Chil­dren: Cards will be left on a ta­ble in the Church. Parish­ioners are wel­come to take a card and pray for the young per­son named on the cho­sen card. Please re­turn the card to the ta­ble be­fore leav­ing the Church. Thank you.

Cel­e­brat­ing 21 Years of Per­pet­ual Ado­ra­tion: Fr. God­frey will lead a Holy Hour for Lent ev­ery Fri­day at 8pm con­sist­ing of Sta­tions of the Cross, Chap­lets of Divine Mercy and Rosary.

Novena of Grace: This con­tin­ues un­til Satur­day and is di­rected by Fr. Kieran Cronin, OFM. Novena prayers will be said at the 10am and 1.05pm Masses. Fr. Cronin will speak at the 10am Mass only. The Prayer Pe­ti­tion Box will be in the Church.

Child Pro­tec­tion Pol­icy: A copy of the Parish Child Pro­tec­tion Pol­icy can be viewed in the Parish Of­fices.

Bethany Be­reave­ment Group: The Our Lady Queen of Peace Bethany Sup­port hold a Drop-In evening on the first Tues­day of ev­ery month at the Villa Pacis at 8.30pm for those suf­fer­ing loss of ev­ery kind. North Wick­low/ Bray Stroke Club Meets ev­ery Mon­day morn­ing 10am-12noon in the Villa Pacis be­side Our Queen of Peace Church. If you have been af­fected by a stroke or are a carer and would like to come along you will be most wel­come.


A meet­ing takes place on March 11th at 11am in the Villa Pacis and all mem­bers are re­quested to at­tend. De­tails of out­ings and fu­ture events will be an­nounced.
