En­niskerry Ju­nior Foot­ballers have their open­ing game this com­ing Satur­day against Bless­ing­ton at 3.00p.m in Pairc na Sil­logue, this first game in the County League could not be much harder for the Black and Am­ber men.The turnout for train­ing has been good and hope­fully will re­sult in a home win.


En­niskerry Y.C's sec­ond had their first win of the Soc­cer sea­son with a big score­line a 5-0 thrash­ing of Carnew on Sun­day last, 2 goals each from Stephen Black­byrne and Stephen Smith and the fifth one com­ing from Justin Melia brought happy looks on the faces of the Se­lec­tors and play­ers alike. The first team made their exit from the Cup los­ing out to a lone goal from New­town.


En­niskerry Walk­ers are out again on Satur­day 12th March leav­ing the Vil­lage (Wind­sors Spar) at 1.50 p.m by pooled cars to their 2 hour 5 miles trip at Lough Dan, with new and old Walk­ers wel­come.


The En­niskerry Ac­tive Re­tire­ment Group held a meet­ing on Mon­day to plan for the com­ing months and all will be re­vealed to the Pub­lic over the com­ing weeks by way of Pub­lic No­tices and Per­sonal calls where pos­si­ble.


The 2011 Sea­son is here judg­ing by by the amount of prac­tise rounds be­ing played on Lo­cal Cour­ses by mem­bers who just can­not wait for the Open­ing Drive Off.


The Kil­gar­ron Park Res­i­dents fi­nally got their Prizes from the Wick­low County Coun­cil for their great work last year first Place in the County Coun­cil Es­tates and an Sus­tain­abil­ity and Com­mu­nity En­vi­ron­men­tal Award was well mer­ited and the Cheque of €1,000 will be well spent in the com­ing ear, if you want more news or to of­fer your ser­vices to the hard work­ing group your con­tact is the Sec­re­tary Michele Cronin.


To­mor­row night ( Thurs­day) lo­cal his­to­rian and au­thor Liam Clare will be the guest speaker for the March monthly meet­ing of the En­niskerry His­tory So­ci­ety at 8.30pm on in the Pow­er­scourt Arms Ho­tel, En­niskerry, at which he will present his lec­ture 'The En­clos­ing of the Com­mons at the Su­gar­loaf Moun­tain near Bray, 1830 to 1870 '.
