Worker takes action against Dunnes
A GREYSTONES man allegedly suspended from his role of financial director at Dunnes is to bring proceedings against the company to have him restored to his position.
Larry Howard, New Road, Greystones, has said that Director Margaret Heffernan said that she wanted ‘f ***ing men or mice’, during a meeting before he was put on paid leave.
He alleges that he was treated in a demeaning manner by Mrs. Heffernan.
The High Court has given Mr. Howard permission to proceed with the case. In an affidavit, Mr. Howard said that he had a close working relationship with Andrew Street, who switched from Dunnes chief operations officer to Superquinn CEO.
Mr. Howard said that he was treated differently following the move, based on the presumption that he would also leave and go to Superquinn. The matter will be before the court again on Monday.
