‘Inspirational’ rappers Front Runners a big hit with fans

Bray People - - NEWS -

RAPPERS GRAHAM Doyle, Stephen Byrne and Kevin Kane are gathering a bit of a cult following in Bray after just six months in existence and one gig under their collective belts.

The three teenagers started working together last summer and performed for the first time at the CYB Christmas show last year in the Little Flower Hall as rap outfit ‘ Front Runners.'

Graham from Silverpines, Stephen from Wolfe Tone and Kevin from Charnwood have earned a massive amount of respect for what they are trying to achieve, particularly from youth worker Dermot O'Brien of the ‘Hi Rez' centre who called the group ‘ inspirational.'

They write their own raps as well as doing remixes of songs, and have recorded with Scott O'Neil, lead singer of Peakin' Trippers, as well as other vocalists along the way.

‘We're bringing a CD out in the summer,' added Graham, who said that the recording process has been hard work but really interesting. ‘We've recorded 10 songs altogether, both in Hi Rez and in a Dublin studio.

‘It's all thanks to this man,' added Graham, who said that youth leader Dermot has been hugely supportive.

Front Runners work is available on Youtube and Facebook.
