Yet another top award for Powerscourt Ritz-Carlton
THE RITZ-CARLTON in Powerscourt has been recognised once again by the prestigious meetings and incentive industry, winning a silver award for the ‘Best Overseas Hotel’ at The M&IT Awards in London recently.
Organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel Magazine, the event brings together various sectors of the MICE industry to reward excellence of service and product. This recognition for The Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt comes hot on the heels of two awards received in November 2010 at the Condé Nast Johansens Annual Awards for Excellence, when the hotel received the ‘Best Venue and Hotel that accommodates groups of over 100’ and the ‘Most Excellent MICE Award for 2011.’
The Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards gala presentation dinner was established in 1988 and is held in February each year. Organised by the British Meetings & Incentive Travel Magazine, the event brings together key figures from the meetings, incentive and events sector to reward and recognise excellence. There are 19 awards voted for by the readers of Meetings & Incentive Travel Magazine, plus two special awards. ‘M&IT Personality of the Year,’ voted for by the industry and the ‘Access Excellence Award,’ where organisations nominate them- selves. More than 1,900 organisations were nominated for the 2011 M&IT Awards, and more than 8,300 votes were cast.
‘ We are so proud of all the ladies and gentleman of The Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt,’ said general manager Max Zanardi. ‘It is fantastic for Ireland and for Co. Wicklow to receive this type of recognition.
‘We are very happy that our commitment to the meeting and incentive sector is being noticed in so many ways as this type of business is very important, both for the hotel, the local community and for Ireland as a meeting destination for international organisations.’
