Special meeting to allow McLoughlin Seanad vote
A SPECIAL meeting of Wicklow County Council will take place on or before March 21 to allow Grainne McLoughlin who will replace newly elected TD, Simon Harris, vote in the upcoming Seanad elections.
Speaking at a recent meeting of Wicklow County Council Cllr. George Jones said a special meeting of the council would need to take place to allow Ms. McLoughlin vote in the elections.
Cllr. Nicky Kelly said he had no problem with the special meeting but said he would also like the county's housing situation to be discussed at this meeting. Cllr. Tommy Cullen supported Cllr. Jones and said it was 'only right' that Ms. McLoughlin got the opportunity to vote in the election. 'I don't want to see anyone deprived of that.'
