Sarah Jane Temple, Jonathon Barker, Zara O'Dwyer, Rachel Dwyer, Sarah Flavin, Jules Kinsella, Aimee Kane, Jodie Mohan, and Ellen Hookey went to a swimming pool on Saturday March 12. In the water they had an introduction to Scuba Diving organised by the Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club. Next they will be introduced to sea snorkelling, and eventually will try a scuba dive in the sea. The club had thirty-one members on a night walk in the Glen of the Downs. Next week they will have a night walk in the Dargle Valley, and the following week will be a session in the swimming pool.
The Irish Underwater Council annual Rescue Diver Course in the area was once again organised by Bray Divers in the Boathouse on the Seafront.
Those on the course included Maire Kirby, Paul Walsh, Barry McIntyre, Eoin Mallin, Garfield Spollen, Graham O'Connor, Ray Ryan, Catherine Redmond, Bradley Powell, James Winans, Lis Lukasz, Eddie Behan, and Stephen Singleton. Instructors were David and Albert Kerr. The course items were lectures, handling oxygen equipment, rescuing a diver at sea, and shore management. Candidates will practice skills, and testing will be during the month of July.

Family Individual Prayer During Lent: This is an opportunity to spend 15/20 minutes in prayer once a week as a family or individual. We will provide a Prayer Leaflet, Candle, copy of St. Luke's Gospel and a Trocaire Box. If you wish to take part, please place your name and address on the sheet at the back of the Church as a sign of your commitment.
Retreat for Young People: This will be held in the Villa Pacis on Saturday April 16th starting at 10am - more details to follow.
PancakeMorning: Thanks are extended to all those who supported the Pancake Day on Shrove Tuesday and top Annette, Kerrie and Carol for their hard work. €225 was raised and has been forwarded to The Children's Hospital, Tallaght.
Festival of Hope: Bray Churches Together will hold a ' Festival of Hope ', a fun event for all families with a Celebration of Worship, on Sunday May 1st between 1pm and 4pm in Kilruddery Gardens. Volunteers are needed to help with planning, preparing, and stewarding this event and those who would like to be a volunteer and be part of the Festival are asked to contact the Parish Office. World Youth Day: 5 young people from the Parish, Shane Whelan, Bentley Park; Fiona Doherty, Seacrest; Isabella Veale, Avoca Drive; Laura Green, Woodbrook Lawn; and Zahra Mohamed, Putland Villas, will be attending World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain, in August this year. They will be having a collection in Tesco on Good Friday and Holy Saturday and your support would be greatly appreciated.
Seniors Bingo: This takes place on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm in the Villa Pacis - all welcome.
Charismatic Prayer Group: This Group meets on Thursday nights at 8pm in the Villa Pacis.
Baptism: Baptisms take place on Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on the 2nd Sunday of the Month.
2011 Holy Land Pilgrimage: The Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land will take place from Monday May 23rd to Tuesday May 31st 2011. The cost is €1150 per person sharing, Half Board. 2011 Lourdes Pilgrimage: This will take place from September 7th to September 12th. Total cost €689 - Deposit Cost €50. Further details from 01-2745497 between 10am and 1pm.
Booking of Masses: Mass Cards and the booking of Masses will be looked after in St. Laurence's Office in the Villa Pacis (beside the Parish Office). If you are unable to get the date you require, perhaps it may help to have the person included in the Mass on that date.
New Hymn Books: New hymn books have been purchased and will be available all around the Church. Please use them at Mass as singing is very important for our celebrations. Please do not remove them from the Church. Prayer Cards for Confirmation Children: Cards will be left on a table in the Church. Parishioners are welcome to take a card and pray for the young person named on the chosen card. Please return the card to the table before leaving the Church.
Celebrating 21 Years of Perpetual Adoration: Fr. Godfrey will lead a Holy Hour for Lent every Friday at 8pm consisting of Stations of the Cross, Chaplets of Divine Mercy and Rosary.
Child Protection Policy: A copy of the Parish Child Protection Policy can be viewed in the Parish Offices.
Bethany Bereavement Group: The Our Lady Queen of Peace Bethany Support hold a Drop-In evening on the first Tuesday of every month at the Villa Pacis at 8.30pm for those suffering loss of every kind. If you would like to find out more please call 087-9905299 or contact Sam through the Parish Office.
Bray and East Wicklow Stroke Club meets every Monday morning from 10am to 12 Noon in the Villa Pacis. If your have been affected by a stroke or are a carer and would like to come along, you will be most welcome.
