Sarah Jane Tem­ple, Jonathon Barker, Zara O'Dwyer, Rachel Dwyer, Sarah Flavin, Jules Kin­sella, Aimee Kane, Jodie Mo­han, and Ellen Hookey went to a swim­ming pool on Satur­day March 12. In the wa­ter they had an in­tro­duc­tion to Scuba Div­ing or­gan­ised by the Queen of Peace Ad­ven­ture Youth Club. Next they will be in­tro­duced to sea snorkelling, and even­tu­ally will try a scuba dive in the sea. The club had thirty-one mem­bers on a night walk in the Glen of the Downs. Next week they will have a night walk in the Dar­gle Val­ley, and the fol­low­ing week will be a session in the swim­ming pool.


The Ir­ish Un­der­wa­ter Coun­cil an­nual Res­cue Diver Course in the area was once again or­gan­ised by Bray Divers in the Boathouse on the Seafront.

Those on the course in­cluded Maire Kirby, Paul Walsh, Barry McIn­tyre, Eoin Mallin, Garfield Spollen, Graham O'Con­nor, Ray Ryan, Cather­ine Red­mond, Bradley Pow­ell, James Wi­nans, Lis Lukasz, Ed­die Be­han, and Stephen Singleton. In­struc­tors were David and Al­bert Kerr. The course items were lec­tures, han­dling oxy­gen equip­ment, res­cu­ing a diver at sea, and shore man­age­ment. Can­di­dates will prac­tice skills, and test­ing will be dur­ing the month of July.

Parish Li­turgy Group: Any­one in­ter­ested in join­ing this Group can con­tact Fr. Larry and thus as­sist the Group to pro­vide Masses that truly cel­e­brate our faith and en­rich the life of the Parish.

Fam­ily In­di­vid­ual Prayer Dur­ing Lent: This is an op­por­tu­nity to spend 15/20 min­utes in prayer once a week as a fam­ily or in­di­vid­ual. We will pro­vide a Prayer Leaflet, Can­dle, copy of St. Luke's Gospel and a Tro­caire Box. If you wish to take part, please place your name and ad­dress on the sheet at the back of the Church as a sign of your com­mit­ment.

Re­treat for Young Peo­ple: This will be held in the Villa Pacis on Satur­day April 16th start­ing at 10am - more de­tails to fol­low.

Pan­cakeMorn­ing: Thanks are ex­tended to all those who sup­ported the Pan­cake Day on Shrove Tues­day and top An­nette, Ker­rie and Carol for their hard work. €225 was raised and has been for­warded to The Chil­dren's Hos­pi­tal, Tal­laght.

Fes­ti­val of Hope: Bray Churches To­gether will hold a ' Fes­ti­val of Hope ', a fun event for all fam­i­lies with a Cel­e­bra­tion of Wor­ship, on Sun­day May 1st be­tween 1pm and 4pm in Kil­rud­dery Gar­dens. Vol­un­teers are needed to help with plan­ning, pre­par­ing, and stew­ard­ing this event and those who would like to be a vol­un­teer and be part of the Fes­ti­val are asked to con­tact the Parish Of­fice. World Youth Day: 5 young peo­ple from the Parish, Shane Whe­lan, Bent­ley Park; Fiona Do­herty, Seacrest; Is­abella Veale, Avoca Drive; Laura Green, Wood­brook Lawn; and Zahra Mo­hamed, Put­land Vil­las, will be at­tend­ing World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain, in Au­gust this year. They will be hav­ing a col­lec­tion in Tesco on Good Fri­day and Holy Satur­day and your sup­port would be greatly ap­pre­ci­ated.

Se­niors Bingo: This takes place on Wed­nes­day af­ter­noons from 2pm to 4pm in the Villa Pacis - all wel­come.

Charis­matic Prayer Group: This Group meets on Thurs­day nights at 8pm in the Villa Pacis.

Bap­tism: Bap­tisms take place on Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on the 2nd Sun­day of the Month.

2011 Holy Land Pil­grim­age: The Parish Pil­grim­age to the Holy Land will take place from Mon­day May 23rd to Tues­day May 31st 2011. The cost is €1150 per per­son shar­ing, Half Board. Non-re­fund­able book­ing de­posit €250 - lim­ited num­bers. Those in­ter­ested are asked to con­tact the Parish Of­fice or Fr. Larry on 01-286 2346.

2011 Lour­des Pil­grim­age: This will take place from Septem­ber 7th to Septem­ber 12th. To­tal cost €689 - De­posit Cost €50. Fur­ther de­tails from 01-2745497 be­tween 10am and 1pm.

Book­ing of Masses: Mass Cards and the book­ing of Masses will be looked af­ter in St. Lau­rence's Of­fice in the Villa Pacis (be­side the Parish Of­fice). If you are un­able to get the date you re­quire, per­haps it may help to have the per­son in­cluded in the Mass on that date.

New Hymn Books: New hymn books have been pur­chased and will be avail­able all around the Church. Please use them at Mass as singing is very im­por­tant for our cel­e­bra­tions. Please do not re­move them from the Church. Prayer Cards for Con­fir­ma­tion Chil­dren: Cards will be left on a ta­ble in the Church. Parish­ioners are wel­come to take a card and pray for the young per­son named on the cho­sen card. Please re­turn the card to the ta­ble be­fore leav­ing the Church.

Cel­e­brat­ing 21 Years of Per­pet­ual Ado­ra­tion: Fr. God­frey will lead a Holy Hour for Lent ev­ery Fri­day at 8pm con­sist­ing of Sta­tions of the Cross, Chap­lets of Divine Mercy and Rosary.

Child Pro­tec­tion Pol­icy: A copy of the Parish Child Pro­tec­tion Pol­icy can be viewed in the Parish Of­fices.

Bethany Be­reave­ment Group: The Our Lady Queen of Peace Bethany Sup­port hold a Drop-In evening on the first Tues­day of ev­ery month at the Villa Pacis at 8.30pm for those suf­fer­ing loss of ev­ery kind. Bray and East Wick­low Stroke Club meets ev­ery Mon­day morn­ing from 10am to 12 Noon in the Villa Pacis. If your have been af­fected by a stroke or are a carer and would like to come along, you will be most wel­come.
