Support group kick up heels for funds
BRAY CANCER SUPPORT celebrated the eve of St. Patrick's Day with a Ceili in the Royal Hotel last Wednesday evening. They managed to raise over €500 towards the ongoing fund for a new centre as well as ongoing running costs. Declan Glenn and Sean Og provided the music at the dance, and girls from the Caroline Quincey School of dance entertained guests with a rousing performance. The night was organised by Tom Ryan of Bank of Ireland.
As well as the admission, everyone there took part in a raffle, with lots of great prizes on offer. Veronica O'Leary said that the evening was a great success. She said they were joined by a group staying in the hotel.
‘One lady, who is from Northern Ireland, is a survivor of breast cancer. When she realised what the night was in aid of, she gathered the rest of the group and they all joined in.’
