Maths week off the mark

MATHS WEEK is un­der­way at the Bray Adult Learn­ing Cen­tre, with a range of num­ber-re­lated ac­tiv­i­ties to get peo­ple think­ing.

‘Num­bers are a part of daily life. If we plan a jour­ney, fol­low a recipe or man­age a house­hold bud­get we use num­bers,' said an or­gan­iser. 'Our maths skills help us to make im­por­tant de­ci­sions and to get things done ev­ery day. Un­wrap­ping num­bers at the Bray Adult Learn­ing Cen­tre is a week long fo­cus on num­bers in our lives.'

Kick­ing off the week was the launch of our new Face­book page last Mon­day evening. Fol­low the cen­tre on Face­book at ' bray adult learn­ing cen­tre face­book' for more in­for­ma­tion on maths week.

Deirdre Rice from MABS will give bud­get­ing ad­vice on Thurs­day at 11.30 a.m., and on Fri­day win­ners of the maths quiz will be an­nounced.

The Bray Adult Learn­ing Cen­tre pro­vides a first step back into ed­u­ca­tion for adult learn­ers who wish to re­turn to ed­u­ca­tion and im­prove their ba­sic skills.

The Cen­tre of­fers a wide range of free part­time cour­ses for adults who wish to brush up on ba­sic skills.
