Gardai believe intruder shot by home owner
A FIRE-ARM was discharged in Brittas Bay after an intruder was found inside another person’s home.
A man was disturbed inside a house at Cullen Lane, Three Mile Water by the owner of the property at around 6 p.m. on Sunday March 13.
The intruder was confronted by the home owner and a firearm was discharged.
The man who illegally entered the house managed to escape and make his getaway.
Later that evening Wicklow Gardai received word that a man was on his way to Loughlinstown Hospital where he presented himself with injuries consistent with those sustained from a gunshot.
His injuries were minor and he was released from hospital later that night.
No arrests have been made and the Gardai are still investigating the matter.
It’s understood that the firearm which was discharged was legally owned.
