Bray street strik­ers pick up medals

LIT­TLE BRAY Com­mu­nity Cen­tre pre­sented medals to the as­pir­ing young foot­ballers who took part in their ver­sion of the hit tele­vi­sion pro­gramme Wayne Rooney's Street Striker con­test.

Over the past eight weeks, 40 boys and girls aged be­tween 9 and 12 took part in the con­test. At the end of the eight weeks, medals were awarded to the top three boys and the top three girls who put in the most ef­fort.

Par­ents were in­vited to at­tend the pre­sen­ta­tion, which was held last Fri­day, where the kids were given foot­ball kits for all their hard work.

The con­test was or­gan­ised by Colm O'Ha­gan of Lit­tle Bray Com­mu­nity Cen­tre.

He said, ‘we recorded some of the matches and showed some of the high­lights at the pre­sen­ta­tion.

‘Ev­ery­one who took part was great, and it was great fun for ev­ery­one,' added Colm,
