Telented harpist Claire picked to perform concerts in Europe
BRAY HARPIST Claire O’Donnell is to take her place alongside the very best young classical musicians in Europe as harpist with the E.U.Y.O. ‘ The European Union Youth Orchestra.’
This is a tremendous achievement for a young musician from Wicklow as she has been selected from a pool of musicians from all 27 European Union states. Only one other harpist from Ireland has ever achieved this position before.
With an early passion for harp, she began to learn at the age of eight in The Royal Irish Academy of music Dublin and later in the Conservatoire National.
De Music Reims, France. She was the youngest performer at the Ninth World Harp Congress in Dublin in 2005 and was appointed principle harpist with The National Youth Orchestra in 2007.
Claire also plays and is a tutor of traditional Irish harp with the Bray branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. Claire’s busy schedule of concerts over the next year starts with performances in Poland, Hungary Serbia, Croatia and Italy. All her students and Bray Comhaltas wish her the best of luck.
