BAZUMBLE SALE

The TY De­vel­op­ment Ed­u­ca­tion class held a Bazumble Sale on Fri­day 11 and Mon­day, March 14 in the Con­cert Hall. It was a very suc­cess­ful fundraiser, all monies made will go to aid chil­dren in the Cameroon. The Ty girls would like to thank ev­ery­one who do­nated items for the Bazumble Sale, they re­ally ap­pre­ci­ated the sup­port and wanted to as­sure ev­ery­one that noth­ing went to waste. Any­thing that was left over went to char­ity also.

YSI SPEAK OUT

The Young So­cial In­no­va­tors from the Ty class trav­elled to The He­lix at DCU to speak out on is­sues such dis­abil­ity and home­less­ness.

Each group was al­lowed to make a two minute pre­sen­ta­tion of their so­cial ac­tion pro­ject on The He­lix stage. Stu­dents from other Le­in­ster schools spoke out on the so­cial is­sues that con­cerned them. It was an in­for­ma­tive and en­joy­able day.

BAS­KET­BALL STARS

Our U-19 C Bas­ket­ball team, who are All-Ire­land Cham­pi­ons, were guests at the East Coast FM Sports Star of the Year Awards 2010 which was held at the Glen­dalough Ho­tel on Fri­day night, March 11.

Congratulations to Katie Tay­lor the Women’s World Box­ing Cham­pion who won the award and very well done to our team and all those who were in the run­ning for the award be­cause of their great sport­ing achieve­ments dur­ing 2010.

HAM­LET AT THE HE­LIX

Our fifth year English classes en­joyed the pro­duc­tion of Shake­speare's Ham­let which was staged at the He­lix on Thurs­day night, 10th March. The stu­dents were ac­com­pa­nied by Ms El­iz­a­beth O’Dea, Ms S. Doyle, Mr Tim Hicks, Frau Gringle and Mlle Fer­rand.
