There will be a handbag sale in Kilian House Family Centre on Sunday. Donations of new and nearly new handbags, jewellery, hats, debs dresses and other similar items are most welcome. Also unwanted new gifts are gratefully accepted.
Orla Woods along with Susan Finan, have been modelling some of the dresses which have been donated to the forthcoming Chernobyl Handbag and Jewellery Sale to be held in St. Killian’s Centre (behind the Holy Rosary Church) on Sunday.
Orla has been a supporter of the previous sales and knows the wonderful bargains to be got on the day.
This year Orla is joining forces with the committee and will cut the ribbon on their 6th and best sale yet.
There will be something for everyone at this year's sale. Tea/coffee, a cake sale, a new book stall, facepainting for the children and a chance to try on the Rose’s tiara! Bring your camera to get a photo with the Rose!
So come on everyone and spring-clean your wardrobe and give us those items you’ve only worn
once. Items needed are your handbags, jewellery, hats, stoles, wedding outfits, debs dresses,
leather jackets, belts and those shoes you’ve only worn once.
Proceeds of the sale will go to fund a holiday of a lifetime for 20 children from Klintsy in
Western Russia, an area which is still contaminated by radiation, 25 years after the horrendous Chernobyl disaster. This holiday can boost the children’s immune system and extend their life by two years. €10,000 is needed to cover the cost of the children and their two interpreters travelling expenses. They will spend one month living with host families who generously open their homes and hearts to these children without any financial support.
Donations for the sale are gratefully accepted. Please contact Mary 085 7152306 / Daireen 087 9980472.
