On March 31 Greystones Cancer Support are hosting a public talk on ‘Surviving Cancer’ with Dr. Jenny Westrup, medical oncologist at the Beacon Hospital.
The talk will take place in the Shoreline Medical Centre at 8pm on March 31.
Survivorship is not just about completing all cancer treatment and arriving exhausted at some invisible finishing line. Survivorship is living with, through and beyond cancer. As cancer detection and treatments improve, there are a growing number of people who are living with a diagnosis of cancer.
Recently the focus of cancer treatment has begun to explore the post-treatment period and the need for a survivorship care plan.
Survivorship recognizes the need to address a wide range of issues including: medical, psychosocial, spiritual, financial, sexual and genetic.
All are welcome to come along to this very important evening. Tea and coffee will be served and there will be an opportunity for personal discussion.
