Corr and Murray hit the net
TWO of Wicklow's overseas stars were on the goal trail this week.
On Friday night, Newcastle's Barry Corr took his tally for the season to 18 as he struck a brace in Southend United's 4-0 victory over Hereford United.
In the 65th minutes of their League One clash, Corr pounced to fire home after Hereford goalkeeper Adam Bartlett had spilled a Lee Sawyer shot.
Corr then added a third for his side two minutes later when he converted a right wing free-kick from Seán Clohessy.
The 25-year-old, currently enjoying his most prolific season in professional football, is now just two goals away from reaching his target for the season.
Elsewhere, former Arklow Town sensation Shane Murray netted as Sheffield United's academy side fell to a 1-2 defeat to Manchester City.
The Blades fell behind in the 40th minute but Murray drew his side level shortly afterwards when he converted a penalty for the hosts.
City went on to snatch a late winner but Murray and fellow former Town star Aaron Barry played the full 90 minutes for the Yorkshire outfit.
