Bray People - - SOCCER ROUND-UP -

ARKLOW UNITED had to come from behind to keep their unbeaten record in the U-9 Division 3 Shield intact. The Ferndale Park side travelled to Ballywaltrim on Sunday to take on St. Fergal's and fell behind in the 12th minute. The hosts worked the ball well down the left wing and Gary Purcell's cross was fired into the net by striker Luke O'Connell. Fergal's led at half-time but were denied a win over the leaders when United equalized ten minutes after the restart when Dylan Furlong scored a superb free-kick.

United have now lost their grip on top spot due to Greystones United picking up a 4-2 win over St. Patrick's. The Arklow side do have a game in hand over 'Stones though. A point for the Saints on Sunday keeps them in touch with the top two. Best on the day for the hosts on Sunday were Sergio Lopez, James Moran, Ryan Kearney, Gary Purcell and Luke O'Connell.
