Furlong an injury doubt for Sunday

Bray People - - SPORT -

WICKLOW'S MAN of the match in Kilkenny, Seánie Furlong, may be a doubtful starter for Sunday's crunch game against Roscommon.

Furlong, who was top scorer with 1-7, played through the pain barrier in the second half of Sunday's match and was withdrawn with eight minutes to go complaining of a shoulder/back injury.

It was treated as minor at the time but he took no part in training on Monday night and was seen by team spinologist Pat Kelly who treated him for three neck/shoulder injuries.

Pat believes that the injury is bad enough but he is hopeful that he can get him right in time to take his place on Sunday

Pat also treated midfielder James Stafford, Paul Earls and goalie John Flynn on Monday night but is confident that all three will be in the starting line-up to take on Roscommon in Aughrim on Sunday.
