Women get together in Arklow to mark 100 years of ‘international day’
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY was celebrated in Arklow recently and Arklow Women's Club played host to women's groups from Arklow, Wicklow and Kilcoole in the Harbour Bar.
The event was held to mark 100 years of International Women's Day and to acknowledge economic, political and social achievements of women, past and present, and to inspire women of the future.
The evening consisted of some networking and karaoke and a great evening was had by all. Everyone present was given flowers made by the members of Arklow Women's Club to mark the celebration. Arklow Women's Club thanked Kennys of the Harbour Bar for providing the venue and to a large number of businesses who donated spot prizes. Thanks also to members of the Arklow Women's Club and anyone else who donated prizes or helped in any way.
Arklow Women's Club meets every Tuesday night at the Community Development Project Offices on Lower Main Street. Activities to date include art, computers, flower making, spiritual guidance, fun bingo, yoga, aromatherapy, shiatsu and socialising. Membership is currently full but if you wish to put your name down contact 086 8832082.
