Stole more than €17k from bank

A MAN who stole more than €17,000 will be sen­tenced in July at Wick­low Cir­cuit Court.

Des­mond Mur­phy (38) of 18 Mac­room Av­enue, Coolock pleaded guilty to of steal­ing €17,400 from the EBS on Church Road and im­me­di­ately be­fore or at the time of do­ing so sub­jected some­one to force on De­cem­ber 1, 2005.

Mur­phy was due to be sen­tenced last week but acting for him Fear­gal Ka­vanagh, SC, said Mur­phy is cur­rently in cus­tody in re­spect of an­other mat­ter.

He said Mur­phy had been sen- tenced in Gal­way for an­other rob­bery and there was in­for­ma­tion be­fore that court on his drug re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion.

Mr. Ka­vanagh said he wanted to have that in­for­ma­tion and Judge Michael O’Shea ad­journed the case un­til July 5.
