GAISCE GLENDALOUGH WALK
On Friday, March 11, a group of Transition year students together with five teachers headed off to walk 18km of The St Kevins Way Walk. After an overnight stay in a local hostel they completed their adventure by climbing Spinc mountain. Despite the inclement weather conditions all students completed their task and had a great time.
A very successful school planning day was held in Scoil Chonglais on March 18. Teachers heard reports from Ms Aisling Leonard and Mr Joe Dolan on Instructural Intelligence. Both teachers have completed a three year course through Co Wicklow VEC with Dr Barrie Bennett. Feedback was given to teachers on classroom methodologies which will be introduced across the school in the coming months
NEW E.LEARNING CENTRE
Planning is at an advanced stage for the new school library and IT centre which will be operational from September 2011
Scoil Chonglais were delighted to welcome Ms Fiona Hartley CEO and Mr Michael Lawlor Chairperson of Co Wicklow VEC to our school for their monthly meeting
A group of 5th year art students are continuing with their successful pottery workshop. They are making a Totem Pole based on the 9th Century Cross of Moone. It will be exhibited in one of the School courtyards before the end of term. This project is funded by a Creative Engagement grant and the artist facilitating this is Trish Kenny from Shillelagh.
