More Sad Passings
AFTER last week’s Kilmacanogue Diary which sadly resembled an obituary column, comes more sad news of a further three deaths in our community. On Tuesday morning, many were saddened and shocked to hear of the sudden death of Peter Donnelly. Peter had travelled over from Liverpool to attend some of the recent funerals in Kilmacanogue and passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He was a very pleasant man and loved coming back regularly to his village where he knew so many. He was the beloved husband of the late Trixie, loving father of Kevin, Mark, Noeleen and Paul, brother of Paddy, Nancy, Biddy and Tess and brother in law of Betty and Angela. He will be sadly missed also by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A mass took place last Thursday morning in St. Mochonog's Church before removal to Liverpool for his Funeral Mass and Cremation. On Thursday, Pamela Ruth Rudd passed away peacefully in the care of the staff of Greystones Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Hugh and loving mother of Heather and Jillian and mother in law to Nigel and Gordon. She was also the beloved Nana of Giles, Mark, Ian and Emma and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her Funeral Service took place in Rachmichael Parish Church on Monday morning and afterwards she was laid to rest in Shanganagh Cemetery. Then on Saturday morning, there was complete and utter shock at the news of the sudden death of Noel Barney. Noel passed away at home after feeling unwell and collapsed before an ambulance could get there. He was a man who liked the bit of craic a few pints and his sudden passing has left many stunned and saddened. He is survived by his wife Eileen, daughters Emily, Aoife, and Nicola, Hannah and Jane, Jason, Simon and Sean. brother Dessie and Sisters Maeve &Yvonne and Brother in laws Sean and Jim and the extended family members. We also remember Noels late wife Liz, his sister Elizabeth and brother Freddie, all of whom are sadly no longer with us. Noel will be waked at the family home on Wednesday and his funeral mass will take place at 2 pm this Thursday where members of the Prison Service and Kilmacanogue GAA Club will form Guard of Honours. May all their Souls Rest in Peace.
