East Coast Radio are again holding their Wicklow Wide Coffee morning with special guest celebrity in Kavanaghs put, Roundwood on Friday 8th April from 10a.m - 12pm. Lots of tasty treats and prizes on the day. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
All proceeds go to Cancer Support Services in the Wicklow area. Kavanagh's pub would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who very kindly supported the Christmas Cracker night in December when 700 euro was raised. A cheque was handed over to Dr. Brian Cuddihy of the Wicklow Hospice.

2011 Spring Church Concert Series Calary Sundays in April: 3rd, 10th, 17th. This April Calary Church, Roundwood will host a new Concert Series. Sacred Spaces: Sacred Sounds will feature three well-known Wicklow musicians Eamon Sweeney, Rachel Factor and Redmond O'Toole.
The concerts will take place in Calary Church, Roundwood and will include music from the Irish & Baroque traditions including works by J.S. Bach, Turlough O'Carolan, Louis Couperin and Domenico Scarlatti. Each concert will run from 3.304.30pm on three consecutive Sundays in April. Refreshments will be served after the concert Calary Church, Roundwood.
The members of the Roundwood Ploughing Society would like to extend their deepest sympathy to the Power family on the recent death of George Power. George was a long serving and dedicated member of the Roundwood Ploughing Society, ploughing in competitions for many years, including representing Wicklow in the horse ploughing competition at the All Ireland Ploughing Championships. He also held the current position of Chairperson of the committee. George will be sadly missed by all, may he rest in peace.

Bridget Brady formerly of The Bridge, Ashtown, Roundwood and who now resides in Malaga in Spain will be the only Irish female participant along with thirteen Irish male participants in the Marathon Des Sables Desert Race in Morocco from the 1st to the 11th April.
This race is run over seven days and is a six stage race where there are several heats, free style, and with food self-sufficiency over a distance of about 240 Km. Each participant must carry his/her own backpack containing food, sleeping gear and other material.. This race is known as the toughest race on earth.
It is the 26th year and this year there will be 877 competitors Bridget's number is 517 and Eurosport will be covering the race every night at 7.30pm from the 3rd April. TV3 and ITV will also be showing it, check your tv guides for times. We'd like to wish Bridget the best of luck in this very tough challenge.
