Understrength Arklow lose out against Crumlin
Arklow Town 2, Crumlin United 3: A depleted Arklow Town side fell to a 2-3 defeat at the hands of Crumlin United at Bridgewater Centre Park on Friday night.
The hosts took the lead with 15 minutes on the clock when Cormac Hyland controlled a free kick at the far post before firing home.
Things were all square on the half hour mark though when a Crumlin striker showed some neat footwork before squeezing the ball home past Karl Coleman to make it 1-1.
Arklow didn't let their heads drop though and they went in front once again shortly before the half time break when former Shelbourne and Bray Wanderers striker raced through on goal and kept his nerve to fire past Crumlin 'keeper.
After a period of sustained pressure, the visitors levelled matters for the second time that evening just after the hour mark.
And two minutes later United hit Town with a sucker-punch as a Crumlin winger headed home the winning goal.
The home side pummelled the Dubliners' goal late on but were unable to force an equalizer.
