Our Fash­ion Show is com­ing close on Satur­day April 16th in Ger­maines. Tick­ets on sale in Quinns up­stairs, Pat­ter­sons, Ger­maines and all on the Ladies com­mit­tee. Tick­ets are go­ing fast. Girls reg­is­tra­tion will be taken up next Satur­day for U-12’s at train­ing, while U-14’s and U16’s will be Tues­day 5th at train­ing. DONARD/GLEN JU­VE­NILES

Great num­bers turn­ing out for our satur­day morn­ing train­ing ses­sions. Train­ing con­tin­ues on Satur­day 3rd April at 11am in the pitch for U-6, U8, U-10 and U-12. All boys and girls aged 4 years and up­wards wel­come. U-12 match on this Thurs­day 31st March at 6.15pm in the pitch. Our U-12 team played En­niskerry at half time in the Wick­low v Roscommon game in Aughrim last Sun­day. A very en­joy­able day was had by all and it was a great ex­pe­ri­ence for the chil­dren to play on the County Grounds in front of such a large crowd. Thanks to En­niskerry and to Hugh Kenny and his team of helpers for the day. Our team was - Eimer, Roisin, Claire, Rachel, Conor H, Conor D, Brian, Braden, Michael, Aaron, Alan and Richard. VAL­LEY­MOUNT

The club lotto draw will be held this Satur­day night 2nd April with a jack­pot of €2,800. Please have tick­ets re­turned sold and un­sold be­fore 9pm. Wick­low were in hard luck last week as they lost to Roscommon. The club are hold­ing their sup­per dance in Boys­town Golf Club on the 8th April. The Val­ley­mount Na­tional School Par­ents’ Coun­cil wish to thank most sin­cerely all who sup­ported their fun­dras­ing night in Bal­ly­knockan last week­end. A great night was had by all. KNOCK­ANANNA

The lotto jack­pot has sur­vived again af­ter the lat­est draw which took place in Jacobs bar on Fri­day night . The num­bers draw were 9-11-26-27. There were no match 3 win­ners so there was 4 lucky dip win­ners Der­muid Whe­lan, Jemma Stan­ley, Molly c/o Byrnes shop, Siob­han Cor­bett each re­ceiv­ing €25. The €20 sell­ers prize win­ner was John Lawlor. Next weeks jack­pot will be €10,300. The ju­nior A’s had it's sec­ond league game on Sun­day morn­ing against a very young fit Eire og team. Af­ter a first half of fast, ex­cit­ing foot­ball we had edged ahead by two points but Eire Og’s su­pe­rior fit­ness told in the 2nd half as they won by 5 points on a score­line of 2-13 to 1-11. The re­sults leaves plenty of hard work to be done if we are to match Eire og in the cham­pi­onship along with Laragh , Rath­new , Kil­te­gan, En­niskerry, New­cas­tle in group one.

CAMOGIE: Club Of­fi­cer's 2011 are: Chair­per­son Au­drey Far­rell, Sec­re­tary Pa­tri­cia O'Ke­effe, As­sis­tant Sec Mary Byrne, Trea­sur­ers Stacey Tal­lon, Betty Hed­der­man and Au­drey Far­rell, PRO Kiara Byrne and the Com­mit­tee are Stacey Byrne, San­dra Byrne and Kath­leen O'Gor­man.

Sinead Byrne, Kel­lie Byrne and Claire Byrne were all play­ing on Sun­day with the county team against Meath, they all put in a great ef­fort but they were un­lucky against a strong Meath team. Also the U-16's were play­ing aginst West­meath and again put in a great ef­fort but were un­lucky on the day.

Matches this week: U-15's - Mon­day the 4th of April in the U-15 League away to Carnew. U-17's - Wed­nes­day the 30th of March away to Donard/Glen. Wed­nes­day the 6th at home to Aughrim. Adult League - Sun­day 3rd of April - away to Bal­li­na­cor. Knock­ananna are also host­ing a blitz on Fri­day the 1st of April for U-12's. U-12 and U-13's train­ing in the field ev­ery Thurs­day at 5pm - All Wel­come!

KIL­TE­GAN

There was no win­ner of the lotto last week the num­bers were 11, 18, 22 and 28. We had 3 match 3 win­ners Liz Fo­ley, Karl and Jamie Fur­long and Peg Far­rell. Next week's jack­pot stands at €10,000. Our se­nior hurl­ing team made his­tory on Wed­nes­day night when they played Knock­bridge of Louth in the Le­in­ster Hurl­ing League in Donard un­der lights the first Le­in­ster club match at this venue. We also won the game by 2 points 1-14 to 1-12. Our se­nior foot­ballers play New­town in New­town on Fri­day evening at 8pm in the se­nior league.

Its 25 years this year since our se­nior foot­ball team won the first ever se­nior foot­ball cham­pi­onship and to mark the oc­ca­sion the team of 1986 are get­ting to­gether for a week­end in the Fer­rycar­rig Ho­tel Wex­ford on the week­end of the 8th and 9th April.

This year also marks an­other bit of his­tory in our club when 40 years ago in March our own Peter Keogh has to re­sign a Chair­man of our club to take up the po­si­tion of sec­re­tary of the West Board. When Jack Booth­man and Peter turned foot­ball and hurl­ing on its head in the west. In fact Jack and Peter are still the best of friends to this day. It's good to hear that Jack is back home again af­ter a long stay in hos­pi­tal. We wish him good health.

Congratulations to Lor­can and He­lena Byrne on the birth of their son Padraig last week.

STRAT­FORD-GRANGE­CON

There was no win­ner of last weeks Lotto jack­pot, the num­bers drawn were 15, 17, 18, 29. This weeks Jack­pot will be €4,000 and the draw will take place in The Strat­ford Arms on Mon­day 28th March at 9pm.

AGB JU­VE­NILES

Girls U-10 train­ing has been go­ing great for the last 4 weeks and con­tin­ues ev­ery Thurs­day at the As­tra turf in Pearse Park from 5.45pm - 7pm. Any girl born in 2001in­ter­ested in join­ing please con­tact Joan on 086-0629414. The First County blitz will take place in April and it will be great to see what the girls have learned in train­ing put in to prac­tise!

U-9 boys are train­ing well on Fri­day evenings at Pearses Park from 6.45pm to 8pm. The boys will have their first Blitz next week at home, fur­ther de­tails will be sent by text to par­ents and posted on web site, when con­firmed.

U-14 Ladies foot­ball team took on An Tóchar in the Divi­sion 1 League on Sun­day 20th March 2011. The girls trav­eled to Round­wood for the open­ing fix­ture and a su­perb game of foot­ball was en­joyed by the many sup­port­ers from both clubs who turned out to cheer the girls on. The girls' next game will be on April 19th when they take on Coolkenno at home at 7pm. The U13 squad is also busy pre­par­ing for their open­ing league game away to Carnew, also on April 19th at 7pm. As the games are run­ning si­mul­ta­ne­ously much sup­port will be needed to cover both.

U-9 and U-10 boys are train­ing ev­ery Fri­day evenings at Pearses park from 6.45 to 8pm. Our new coach Mark Nolan has made a big im­pres­sion with the U-10 boys, with new drills, skills, games and above all lots of fun, the boys are re­ally en­joy­ing their train­ing ses­sions. They will have their first Blitz in the Go Games se­ries on April 8th at home where Avon­dale, Rath­new and Avoca will be the vis­it­ing teams, throw in at 6.45 don't for­get to check back here next week for match re­ports, and on our web­site for pic­tures.

U-14 boys have a chal­lenge game this evening the 30th against Ti­na­hely. This should prove a good run out for the lads ahead of our first league game at home to Bray Em­mets, next week on the 6th of April. Full re­port on that match right here next week.

The club ex­tends its deep­est sym­pa­thies to Michelle Kin­sella whose fa­ther Keiran passed away re­cently. Our thoughts are with Michelle and her fam­ily at this time.

COOLKENNO

Coolkenno GAA Club cel­e­brated it's 30th an­niver­sary in style on Satur­day night last in the Ra­mada Ho­tel, Kil­lerig. Ned Ros­siter was the Mas­ter of Cer­e­monies for the event. Be­fore an at­ten­dance of al­most 200, the found­ing mem­bers of the club were hon­oured as were the team which lined out for Coolkenno's first ever cham­pi­onship match on the 21st of June 1981. The hon­oured of­fi­cers were Cathal Friel, who was the Chair­per­son; Myles Keogh, the clubs first sec­re­tary and Jim Walker, who held the po­si­tion of trea­surer back in 1981.

The team that lined out against Rath­new on that fate­ful June day al­most 30 years ago was: Joe Tomp­kins, Robert Doyle, Myles Keogh, Percy Fitzhar­ris, Paul Donoghue, Kevin Byrne, Pat Whealan, Sea­mus Doyle, John Byrne, John Keogh, Jack Bowes (cap­tain), Jim Kee­gan, Billy Wil­son, Fin Doyle, Peter Dempsey, Pat Keogh, Pat Bowes, Mick Bowes, Paudge Balfe and Mick Car­roll. In­ci­den­tally, these 20 men were vic­to­ri­ous that day beat­ing one of the gi­ants of Wick­low foot­ball by 4 points on a score­line of 1-8 to 1-4. 80's player and cur­rent se­lec­tor John Keogh com­piled a slide-show which showed many of the teams that have donned the red and black over the years, from that pi­o­neer­ing team of '81 all the way up to last year's u-14 team.

The play­ers who ex­celled at Ju­nior and Se­nior level in the last year were recog­nised also. Don Jack­man was crowned Se­nior Player of the Year while Billy Lu­cas was the de­serv­ing win­ner of the Ju­nior Player of the Year award. Congratulations to them. The club would like to thank the staff and man­age­ment of the Ra­mada for the won­der­ful ser­vice on the night and Cu­pla who pro­vided the sound­track to the evening. They were well re­ceived by the crowd - the 1981 gen­er­a­tion in par­tic­u­lar.

In other news, the club news­let­ter was launched this week. It's called The Club­man and is on sale in the Shop, Coolkenno. It costs just €1.The U-16's travel to Kil­coole on Mon­day in search of two points. Se­nior player Robert Keogh also re­turned from Aus­tralia this week, wel­come back to him! Ev­ery­one in­volved with Coolkenno GAA would like to wish Michael Keogh of Clon­more a speedy re­cov­ery from ill­ness.

AN TÓCHAR

The GAA Club Lotto was not won last week and we had no match 3 win­ners. This week the jack­pot is €20,000, tick­ets can be pur­chased at Jus­tine's, Terry Ka­vanagh's or in the Post Of­fice. A hard earned 0-8 each draw for the Se­niors against Bal­li­na­cor in Divi­sion 2 at home on Fri­day night. Two late points from Bren­dan Kennedy and Ed Davis se­cured a draw which was a fair re­sult on the night.

A late Donal Mcgilly­cuddy point se­cured a draw for the Ju­niors in Divi­sion 3 against En­niskerry. Fi­nal Score An Tóchar 1-6, En­niskerry 2-3.

Wick­low Feile - U-14 Girls East Qual­i­fier takes place on Satur­day 2nd April, at 11am, venue in the East to be con­firmed. Keep the date free!

There will be a one-day Foot­ball Skills De­vel­op­ment Course held at Áras An Tóchar on Wed­nes­day 20th April for 13-15 Year old Boys and Girls. The course will run from 10 a.m. un­til 3p.m.

There is a fee of €20 for the day. Any boys wish­ing to at­tend can make con­tact with Kevin Gaffney 087-9897188 and any girls wish­ing to at­tend can make con­tact with Mau­reen Cronin 087-6998508, who will have the forms that need to filled in.

The U-14 Girls had an ex­cel­lent start to the sea­son with a one-point win over AGB on Sun­day March 20th, un­der the man­age­ment team of Jenny Mi­ley and Ann Scott. It was a great game with play­ers from both sides giv­ing their all. An Tóchar 3-9 v AGB 4-5. Well done girls.

TI­NA­HELY LADIES

Se­nior Ladies: The Ti­na­hely Ladies were out­stand­ing from the word go in a se­nior league match against Balt­in­glass on Tues­day 22nd March. The fi­nal score was 7-16 to 1-7. The Ladies were out again on Satur­day 26th March. The fi­nal score was 1-10 to 1-4. BLESS­ING­TON JU­VE­NILES

A very busy week for Bless­ing­ton GAA ju­ve­niles with great ac­tion over the week­end with wins for our Feile and U-16 teams. The Feile team re­tained their ti­tle and will go on to rep­re­sent the county in Cork at the end of June. They beat New­town in Avon­dale 1-10 to 0-6. The U-16s also reached the Le­in­ster league fi­nal which was played in Aughrim be­fore the Wick­low v Roscommon match on Sun­day last. The op­po­si­tion was Se­neschal­stown, Co Meath. The lads were re­ally well pre­pared for this by the man­age­ment. Get­ting off to a flyer they set­tled down with a good point from Jor­dan Nolan. More great team work and play gave them a half time lead of 2-07 to 1-03. Bless­ing­ton won with a fi­nal score of 4-13 to 1-9. Scor­ers J. Nolan 2-2, M O'Con­nor 1-0, D Ryan 0-2, J Kelly 0-3, D Booth­man 0-1, I Richard­son 1-4, D. McEn­roy 0-1. This is the first time that Bless­ing­ton have en­tered this competition. Our U-16s also played New­town in Round 2 of the league on 21 March and won by a point with the fi­nal score of 5-07 to 3-12. Round 3 will be away to St Kevins on 28th March and Round 4 at home on 4 April v Bray Em­mets. Our mi­nors will face Avon­dale at home on Sun­day 3 April in Round 4 of the mi­nor win­ter league.

Our in­door hurl­ing for U-8’s will fin­ish this Thurs­day 31 March but will con­tinue at the pitch ev­ery Thurs­day from 6pm - 7pm all sum­mer ex­cept Au­gust. Go Games foot­ball will com­mence on Satur­day 9 April at home play­ing Dunlavin, Kil­bride/Lacken, Strat­ford/Grange­con. Hurl­ing Go Games com­mence on Fri­day 15 April away in Dunlavin play­ing Bal­ly­more and Strat­ford/Grange­con.

KIL­BRIDE

The lotto was not won at the week­end num­bers drawn were, 9,13,15 and 24, next weeks Jack­pot is €3300 the five €20 win­ners were Evie Hud­son, Pat Dono­hoe, Laura O'Brien, The Com­pany and Abaigh Craul. The first team played Bless­ing­ton last Satur­day, the game ended up level at 2-9 apiece. Congratulations to Bless­ing­ton's U-16s who beat Se­neschal­stown in Aughrim on Sun­day in the Le­in­ster league the fi­nal score was 3-14 to 1-9, rep­re­sent­ing Kil­bride on the team was Eoin Keogh, Hugh Walsh, Daragh Ryan, Aaron Re­naghan, and Richard Ward, more congratulations to Bless­ing­ton's Feile team who won the Wick­low Feile, with Gareth He­garty, Matthew Creighton, Conor Ryan, Zach Den­ni­son and Calum Ash­more fly­ing the flag for Kil­bride. Sum­mer Train­ing times for all Ju­ve­nile teams is ev­ery Mon­day in Kil­bride pitch at 6.30pm till 7.30, un­der 6,8,10 and 12. there is no train­ing on bank hol­i­day Mon­days, park­ing only in school car park please. We send best wishes for a speedy re­cov­ery to Jody Mer­ri­gan who was in­jured in the game. Our Ju­nior A Team also con­tin­ued their win­ning trend with a win over New­cas­tle last week on a score­line of 1-13 to 1-10. Our U-16’s were not as lucky when they lost out to Eire Og by six points last week, but with names like Alan Clarke, Nigel Man­ley, Dean Franey and Vivi­enne O’Neill look­ing af­ter this team we know they will be train­ing and work­ing hard,watch this space. ST. PA­TRICKS

The Se­nior foot­ballers were beaten by two points in their league game away to Rath­new on Satur­day last. They dom­i­nated the first 20 min­utes of the game but didn't make it count on the score­board. To their credit they bat­tled to the end and the Rath­new goal­keeper had to make a good save at the very end to pre­vent us grab­bing the points. Best wishes to Donie Fitzger­ald and Rath­new player Jody Mer­ri­gan who both had to leave the field with in­juries.

The In­ter­me­di­ate Hurl­ing team are play­ing a friendly away to Avon­dale to­mor­row Thurs­day, play­ers to meet at the Forge at 6.30pm. The Ju­nior A's game with Coolkenno was post­poned and is now down for next week­end (please check fix­tures).
