Eire Og Grey­stones 2-13 Knock­ananna 1-11

AF­TER PUTTING in a great first half per­for­mance Knock­ananna were out-gunned by a strong Eire Og team from Grey­stones at Knock­ananna on Sun­day morn­ing.

The home side picked off some great points in the first half and when Johnny Wy­brant blasted home a fine goal they went in lead­ing by 1-8 to 2-3 at half-time.

By the start of the sec­ond half the seasiders had re­cov­ered from their long jour­ney and early morn­ing and took con­trol.

Daniel English be­gan to make his Se­nior ex­pe­ri­ence tell at mid­field and Daniel Webb and David Hay­den be­gan to find the range with their point shoot­ing. In the end they ran out cle­sar win­ners.

PLENTY OF ex­cite­ment and con­tro­versy when parish neib­h­bours Bless­ing­ton and Kil­bride met in a Divi­sion 3 match on Satur­day and the best place to start a re­port may be at the very end.

With less than two min­utes to go and Bless­ing­ton hang­ing on for a draw in this very close match Mark Keogh, who plays for both clubs, shot home a goal and the home side were cel­e­brat­ing, as they were well en­ti­tled to do. But was this cracker of a game all over? Not on your life. With ref­eree Jimmy Lawlor mak­ing his last check on his watch up popped Alan Elles, a man that has saved so many matches for Bless­ing­ton, and cracked the ball to the net to level the game again.
