Christ­mas tree re­cy­cling dates and lo­ca­tions

CHRIST­MAS TREES can be brought to a num­ber of Wicklow re­cy­cling cen­tres where they will be shred­ded, com­posted and used again.

The pub­lic are ad­vised by Wicklow County Coun­cil that no wreaths, plas­tic trees or dec­o­ra­tions will be ac­cepted.

Ark­low Re­cy­cling Cen­tre will col­lect Christ­mas trees from Jan­uary 5 to Jan­uary 19, Tues­day to Fri­day 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a Satur­day.

Col­lec­tions take place at the Aughrim Tidy Towns Pavil­ion from Jan­uary 5 to 19, Mon­day to Satur­day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Dur­ing the same dates Avoca Re­cy­cling Cen­tre will also take Christ­mas trees from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tues­day to Satur­day, with Balt­in­glass Ram­pere Re­cy­cling Cen­tre op­er­at­ing from 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Mon­day to Fri­day and from 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon on a Satur­day.

Col­lec­tions also take place from Jan­uary 5 to Jan­uary 19 at Bless­ing­ton County Coun­cil Yard from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Bray Re­cy­cling Cen­tre from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon­day through to Fri­day and from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on a Satur­day, and at Bray Festina Lente Foun­da­tion where do­na­tions in aid of char­ity take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The Wicklow Mur­rough Re­cy­cling Cen­tre is open for Christ­mas trees from Jan­uary 5 to Jan­uary 19, Mon­day to Fri­day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..

St. Cro­nan’s Na­tional School in Bray will run a col­lec­tion point on Jan­uary 12 where a charge in aid of the school will be re­quested from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m..

Fur­ther col­lec­tions will take place at Greystones carpark in front of the Coun­cil Of­fice on Mill Road from Jan­uary 5 to Jan­uary 19, as well as at Wicklow Green King, op­po­site the Bee­hive, from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. week­days and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on a SAtur­day, also from Jan­uary 5 to Jan­uary 19.
