County court services may be run from Bray

Bray People - - NEWS -

ALL COUNTY Wicklow courts services may be managed from the Bray office, it has emerged.

The Courts Service is proposing to create a combined court office to be located in Bray courthouse. It is part of a policy being implemented across the country where current single jurisdictional provincial Circuit and District Court office networks are replaced with a combined multi-jurisdictional office in each county.

‘Should the proposal go ahead the District Court office in Bray and Circuit Court office in Wicklow town will be amalgamated,' said Deputy Anne Ferris. ‘ To all intents and purposes this new amalgamated office will manage all of the Circuit Court and District Court business for County Wicklow.

‘I felt it was important that the people of Wicklow were made aware of the consultation process and that the closing date for submissions is Friday January 25.'

The Courts Service can be contacted at the Eastern Regional Office, The Courthouse, Naas, Co. Kildare.
