Rosanna and Wes­ley to wed next year

FORMER Miss World Rosanna Dav­i­son will get mar­ried next year, fol­low­ing a mar­riage pro­posal while hol­i­day­ing with her boyfriend Wes­ley Quirke on Sun­day.

Wes asked Rosanna's dad Chris de Burgh for his bless­ing a few days be­fore he popped the ques­tion.

En­niskerry girl Rosie tweeted the news from Mau­ri­tius where she and Wes are with the Dav­i­son fam­ily on hol­i­day.

She and Wes­ley were walking on the beach when he went down on bended knee. ‘I was so shocked but happy that we were able to cel­e­brate with my whole fam­ily.'

He pre­sented her with a di­a­mond en­gage­ment ring, es­ti­mated to be val­ued at €40,000, from Voltaire Di­a­monds on St. Stephen's Green. Wes de­signed the ring him­self and the jewellers made it.

‘Wes asked dad a few days ago but I had no idea, they were able to keep it a se­cret. I'm so happy and ex­cited about the fu­ture. I couldn't imag­ine a bet­ter start to 2013,’ Dav­i­son said.

‘Wes and I went for a walk on the beach when he sud­denly got down on one knee and pro­posed,’ she re­vealed.

Ac­cord­ing to Sea­mus Fahy of Voltaire Di­a­monds the groom to be ‘de­signed the ring and we made it for him. It's a cush­ion cut di­a­mond en­gage­ment ring with di­a­mond-set shoul­ders. He was in just be­fore Christ­mas to pick it up’.
