Greystones wins num­ber of awards

GREYSTONES re­ceived a num­ber of awards in the Tidy Towns/Tidy Es­tates Spe­cial En­vi­ron­men­tal Awards 2012.

The com­pe­ti­tion is run by Wicklow County Coun­cil Water & En­vi­ron­men­tal Ser­vices Sec­tion.

Greystones re­ceived a recog­ni­tion of ef­fort award for Tidy Towns Main Street Large Town.

Burn­aby Heights won a Tidy Es­tates award, and Burn­aby Lawn Res­i­dents As­so­ci­a­tion won the Land­scap­ing award in the Spe­cial En­vi­ron­men­tal Award sec­tion.

‘Con­grat­u­la­tions to all the Greystones win­ners in this yearly com­pe­ti­tion,’ said Mayor of Greystones Cllr. Kath­leen Kelle­her.

‘I would like to pay spe­cial trib­ute to the win­ners and to ev­ery­one who helps keep Greystones tidy,’ she added. ‘Ev­ery time you pick up a piece of lit­ter you are part of Greystones Tidy Towns.’
