SENIOR CITIZENS in Avoca enjoyed a great start to the New Year with their annual party at The Meetings.

Organised by the local Senior Citizens Committee the party welcomed over 80 diners for a New Year Party which was funded through donations from the local community.

A total of €1500 was raised during the year from the book exchange at Avoca Recycling Centre which has been successfully running for a number of years and enables an annual celebration for older people living locally.

A delicious meal was served up by The Meetings followed by entertainment from Odyssey, Masie Caswell and her line dancers and some of the guests who sang a song or two as well.

Many thanks to Marian and Colum Moore and all the staff at The Meetings for their help and to all the excellent performers.
