Soccer Action

Bray People - - KILMACANOGUE -

AFTER the two charity matches played over the Xmas period, it was back to the bread and butter stuff for Glencormac Senior team as they returned to league action at home to Conary United on Sunday. This was a really tough game and Kevin Redden's goal after just 10 minutes decided the issue. Although dominating the game, Conary were always dangerous on the break and it looked like “The Glens” might regret the chances missed and the two headed efforts from Andy Free and Mo Nolan that came off the crossbar. However, in a great effort, the lads held on for 3 vital league points with Paul Devlin, Kevin Redden, Simon Doyle and Barry Fitzpatrick outstanding. The team face another tough game at home to Arklow outfit Seaview next Sunday morning at 11-30 and support would be really welcomed. Afterwards, the Liverpool supporters among the squad will go down to the Glencormac Inn and hope that their 2nd favourite team, after Glencormac United of course, can put up a respectable performance against Manchester United in the Premiership.
