The Jan­uary Book Club: The Club will be read­ing two books for the Jan­uary 2013 meet­ing - ‘Tigers in Red Weather' by Liza Klauss­man or ‘The House­maid's Daugh­ter' by Bar­bara Mutch.

An­nual Reg­is­ter of Vestry Per­sons Re­minder: Ev­ery year in Jan­uary each Church of Ire­land par­ish re­vises its reg­is­ter of parish­ioners. Peo­ple who have be­come new mem­bers of the Par­ish and parish­ioners who have reached the age of eigh­teen are en­ti­tled to be­come reg­is­tered mem­bers of the Par­ish known as reg­is­tered par­ish mem­bers. In a sim­i­lar man­ner those who have ceased to be reg­is­tered vestry per­sons through death or hav­ing moved away from the Par­ish are deleted.

To be so reg­is­tered en­ti­tles one to vote at the An­nual Easter Vestry. An up-to-date reg­is­ter is also help­ful when the Church of Ire­land caries out a cen­sus of its mem­bers. Ap­pli­ca­tion forms who those who wish to be added to the An­nual Reg­is­ter should be submitted to a Church­war­den or the Rec­tor be­fore Jan­uary 15th 2013. ST. ANNE'S PAR­ISH

Those re­quir­ing Bap­tism / Con­fir­ma­tion cer­tifi­cates or ap­pli­ca­tion forms for Bap­tism can ob­tain them dur­ing the above hours. Please note that the Par­ish Of­fice is the only place where cer­tifi­cates and ap­pli­ca­tion forms can be pro­cessed.

Bap­tisms: Bap­tisms take place in St. Anne's Church at 12.45pm on the 1st Sun­day of the Month and at 5pm on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Satur­days of the Month. A month's no­tice is re­quired. Please note that when vis­it­ing the Par­ish Of­fice to ar­range a bap­tism, the child's birth cer­tifi­cate should be brought as it nec­es­sary to pho­to­copy it for the par­ish records but it will be re­turned im­me­di­ately.

Times of Masses: Mass is cel­e­brated in St. Anne's Church at 10am and 7.30pm Mon­day to Fri­day, (ex­cept dur­ing July & Au­gust). Week­end Mass times are Satur­day 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sun­day at 8am, (9am in St. Pa­trick's Church in St. Colum­cille's Hospi­tal), 10.30am (Fam­ily Mass), 12 Noon, and 6pm. Con­fes­sions are heard on Satur­days af­ter the 10am Mass, be­tween 12.30pm and 1pm and af­ter the 6.30pm Mass.

Bethany Be­reave­ment Group: The Bethany Be­reave­ment Group is a vol­un­tary par­ish-based min­istry who are trained to lis­ten and to help the be­reaved and griev­ing. The Group holds a Drop In Cen­tre on the First Fri­day of the Month at 10am in St, Anne's Re­source Cen­tre, and can be con­tacted via St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre by call­ing 01-282 2704.

Par­ish Pas­toral Coun­cil Meet­ing: The Jan­uary meet­ing takes place next Mon­day night at 8pm in St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre. The St. Anne's PPC can be con­tacted via the Par­ish Of­fice in St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre.

Catholic Truth So­ci­ety Books: The Catholic Truth So­ci­ety is a body that prints and pub­lishes Catholic Lit­er­a­ture in­clud­ing prayers books, spir­i­tual read­ing and books on the lives of the saints. Th­ese books and leaflets are in­ex­pen­sive and are now avail­able for sale in St.Anne's Re­source Cen­tre.

Wel­come Back Elaine Ho­gan: St. Anne's Par­ish would like to wel­come back Elaine Ho­gan , our Pas­toral Worker, af­ter 14 months work­ing with the Pal­lot­tine Com­mu­nity in Tan­za­nia. She will re­turn to work to the Par­ish on Mon­day.

There was a very large at­ten­dance at last Satur­day's Jan­uary First Satur­day Book Sale, which sup­ports the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion and Meals on Wheels, in the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion Cen­tre be­tween 10am and 1pm. As al­ways there was an ex­cel­lent se­lec­tion of ma­te­ri­als for vis­i­tors to choose from at bargain prices.

The Fe­bru­ary First Satur­day Book Sale will take place in this venue be­tween 10am and 1pm on Satur­day Fe­bru­ary 2nd so make a point of call­ing in some­time that morn­ing as you never know what you might find as there is al­ways a fan­tas­tic ar­ray of read­ing ma­te­rial on of­fer at bargain prices. Tonight (Wed­nes­day) the AGM of the Rathmichael His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety - the lo­cal his­tory so­ci­ety for Shankill & District - will take place at 8pm in Rathmichael School, Shankill, and all mem­bers are re­quested to at­tend. The Agenda for the meet­ing is - Min­utes of the 2012 AGM, Trea­surer's Report, Pres­i­dent's Report, Elec­tion of Com­mit­tee, and Any Other Busi­ness.
