Services of Worship for this Sunday - The First Sunday after the Epiphany-The Baptism of Our Lord: Services for this Sunday are 8.30am Holy Communion, 11am Family Service followed afterwards by coffee in the Erck Hall, and 7pm Holy Communion - Lector Clare Williams.

The January Book Club: The Club will be reading two books for the January 2013 meeting - ‘Tigers in Red Weather' by Liza Klaussman or ‘The Housemaid's Daughter' by Barbara Mutch.
Annual Register of Vestry Persons Reminder: Every year in January each Church of Ireland parish revises its register of parishioners. People who have become new members of the Parish and parishioners who have reached the age of eighteen are entitled to become registered members of the Parish known as registered parish members. In a similar manner those who have ceased to be registered vestry persons through death or having moved away from the Parish are deleted.
To be so registered entitles one to vote at the Annual Easter Vestry. An up-to-date register is also helpful when the Church of Ireland caries out a census of its members. Application forms who those who wish to be added to the Annual Register should be submitted to a Churchwarden or the Rector before January 15th 2013. ST. ANNE'S PARISH
Resource Centre Hours: St. Anne's Resource Centre is open 9am to 8.30pm Monday to Thursday and on Friday from 9am to 3pm. Those requiring Baptism / Confirmation certificates or application forms for Baptism can obtain them during the above hours. Please note that the Parish Office is the only place where certificates and application forms can be processed.

Baptisms: Baptisms take place in St. Anne's Church at 12.45pm on the 1st Sunday of the Month and at 5pm on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturdays of the Month. A month's notice is required. Please contact the St. Anne's Parish Office located in St. Anne's Resource Centre to make your arrangements.
Please note that when visiting the Parish Office to arrange a baptism, the child's birth certificate should be brought as it necessary to photocopy it for the parish records but it will be returned immediately.
Times of Masses: Mass is celebrated in St. Anne's Church at 10am and 7.30pm Monday to Friday, (except during July & August). Weekend Mass times are Saturday 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sunday at 8am, (9am in St. Patrick's Church in St. Columcille's Hospital), 10.30am (Family Mass), 12 Noon, and 6pm. Confessions are heard on Saturdays after the 10am Mass, between 12.30pm and 1pm and after the 6.30pm Mass.
Bethany Bereavement Group: The Bethany Bereavement Group is a voluntary parish-based ministry who are trained to listen and to help the bereaved and grieving. The Group holds a Drop In Centre on the First Friday of the Month at 10am in St, Anne's Resource Centre, and can be contacted via St. Anne's Resource Centre by calling 01-282 2704.
Parish Pastoral Council Meeting: The January meeting takes place next Monday night at 8pm in St. Anne's Resource Centre. The St. Anne's PPC can be contacted via the Parish Office in St. Anne's Resource Centre.

Catholic Truth Society Books: The Catholic Truth Society is a body that prints and publishes Catholic Literature including prayers books, spiritual reading and books on the lives of the saints. These books and leaflets are inexpensive and are now available for sale in St.Anne's Resource Centre.
Welcome Back Elaine Hogan: St. Anne's Parish would like to welcome back Elaine Hogan , our Pastoral Worker, after 14 months working with the Pallottine Community in Tanzania. She will return to work to the Parish on Monday.

The Shankill Old Folks Association is always glad to welcome new members to ‘The Club' which is held in the Shankill Old Folks Association Centre on Lower Road every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm which includes tea and a raffle followed by Bingo - transport can be arranged - call 2826364.
Voluntary helpers are always welcome too, either in the Day Centre, on the Meals on Wheels service or helping with the monthly First Saturday Book Sales. BOOK SALE
There was a very large attendance at last Saturday's January First Saturday Book Sale, which supports the Shankill Old Folks Association and Meals on Wheels, in the Shankill Old Folks Association Centre between 10am and 1pm. As always there was an excellent selection of materials for visitors to choose from at bargain prices.
The February First Saturday Book Sale will take place in this venue between 10am and 1pm on Saturday February 2nd so make a point of calling in sometime that morning as you never know what you might find as there is always a fantastic array of reading material on offer at bargain prices. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council would like to inform readers with natural Christmas trees about the free tree recycling centres about the area. The Christmas Tree recycling will take place until January 13th and is strictly between 9.30am and 3.30pm at the following locations - Killiney Hill car park, Killiney and Shanganagh Recycling Centre car Park, Shankill. Tonight (Wednesday) the AGM of the Rathmichael Historical Society - the local history society for Shankill & District - will take place at 8pm in Rathmichael School, Shankill, and all members are requested to attend. The Agenda for the meeting is - Minutes of the 2012 AGM, Treasurer's Report, President's Report, Election of Committee, and Any Other Business. The AGM will conclude with a short talk by John Lennon on ' The Fitzgeralds of Ardilea House'. Those wishing to join the Society can do at the AGM.
