U-14s continue good run with victory over Edenderry
WICKLOW U14S continued their good run in Division1 with another convincing win at home against Edenderry. The final score of 80 to nil highlights the improvements this squad has made over the last few months and hopefully this will continue during the season ahead. The Wicklow forwards started strongly urged on by scrum half Conor Brennan and soon created an open for Cal Connolly to score the first try. This was soon followed by tries from Patrick Nixon and Stephen Swan. The Wicklow forwards continued to dominate their opposition allowing the back line to show their handling skills which led to two Alfie Heather tries before Wojtek Sowinski finished off the first half with a fine try on the left wing. The second half continued in the same vein with Edenderry having no answer for the Wicklow forward play. The try count continued to climb with some fine solo efforts from Patrick Nixon and captain Cillian Ballesty. Daniel Kinney and Luke Corcoran also got in on the scoring act with center Alfie Heather closing out the game after another good back move. Wicklow: Conor Foster, Stephen Swan, Daniel Kinney, Fionan Teevan, Patrick Nixon, Liam Tierney, Luke Boyce, Cillian Ballesty, Conor Brennan, Conor Curran, Cal Connolly, Alfie Heather, Wojtek Sowinski, Diarmuid Jameson Whoriskey, Luke Corcoran, Lukas Norton, Ben O'Connor.
