Booklet to help public get ready for cold snap
WITH RAIL, hail and ready being forecast over the coming days information on being ‘Winter Ready' has been released by Bray Town Council.
They say that by taking simple steps the public can avoid difficulties or hazards when severe weather occurs.
The winter ready booklet gives information on being prepared, providing practical advice for coping during episodes of severe weather, as well as giving contact details of organisations and agencies that can provide guidance and assistance.
The main message is simple: ‘ be prepared, stay safe and know where to find help should you need it’.
At home, people should have a small supply of non-perishable, easy to prepare foods, and keep extra supplies of medication and fuel.
People should call on elderly relatives and neighbours and ensure they have sufficient supplies of food and medication.
They should ensure that older people have sufficient fuel supplies to maintain adequate heating in their homes.
