60th Birthday

Bray People - - KILMACANOGUE DIARY -

CONGRATULATIONS to young Pat Philips who celebrated turning 60 with a surprise party held in the Esplanade Hotel in Bray last Saturday night (pictured right). Pat's family organised the whole thing behind his back (goes to show what else you don't know about Pat) and he was truly shocked to see so many gathered there to help him celebrate. Many travelled across the water from England to be there and a great night was had by all. Of course the special guest was Pat's little Princess, daughter Madison who as boss of the family, made sure her Daddy did not get too excited by the whole event. Many of Pat's former Glencormac United teammates from the ‘70s were there to join in the celebrations and his great buddy “Skinny Gammell” done a special rendition of Michael Jacksons “Billy Jean” just for Pat. A slight damper was put on the night when some guests were asked to eat the birthday cake which was in the form of his beloved Arsenal FC and Pat's wife Joan got a slight scrape on the new “Carvela Shoes” but otherwise, the night went very well. Anyone that knows Pat will be aware of what a true gentleman he is and we as a community would like to wish him a very happy birthday and best wishes for the next 60!
