Qual­ity drama in Gle­nealy

Af­ter three nights of won­der­ful drama in Gle­nealy at the 58th Wicklow ICA fes­ti­val, the ad­ju­di­ca­tor Philippa Fitz­patrick had a tough job to de­cide the win­ners.

Ash­ford ICA with 'Heaven Help Me' by Ciarán Roche won the Pre­mier Award for Best Group and Theresa Sheekey from Ash­ford won Best Ac­tress. Rath­farn­ham The­atre Com­pany were the Run­ner Up Group with 'Pos­i­tive Dead Peo­ple' by Pauline Shana­han. Del­gany Dra­matic So­ci­ety with ' World Pre­mier' by Charles Man­der won Best Pro­ducer Peter Har­ri­son, Best Ac­tor Peter Rob­bie and Run­ner Up Ac­tress Elizabeth McCormick.

The Vil­lage Play­ers won the Ad­ju­di­ca­tor's Award and Best Set with 'Over My Dead Body' by Pat Baker. The No­rah Ferns Tro­phy for Most Ap­pro­pri­ate Cos­tume went to Mas­quer­ade and James Kearon from Mas­quer­ade won Run­ner Up Ac­tor with ' The Bear' by Brian Friel, af­ter Checkov. Ballycoog ICA with 'Straw­berry Jam' by Bruce Fisk won the Con­don Cup award for an ICA group.

The sketch sec­tion was won by Wicklow Ac­tive Re­tired who per­formed ' Twixt Heaven and Hell' by Jack Burgess. Madge Kenny from Ti­na­hely won the Best Per­for­mance award and Marie Comer­ford from Kil­mant Play­ers won Run­ner Up Per­for­mance.
