Macra’s men in Meath

Bray People - - BUILD & RENOVATION -

A SQUAD from Ballycoog Macra was among the 35 teams battling it out for the much coveted title of All-Ireland Champions for the Ladies’ and Men’s National Dairy Council Indoor Soccer Competition.

The finals took place in Gormanstown College, County Meath.

Togging out for the Wicklow side were Lorcan Clarke, Eamon Clare, Brian D’Arcy, Declan Keogh and John Cullen.

Sadly the Ballycoog Macra team didn’t make it through to the final, though they thoroughly enjoyed themselves competing against other Macra teams from all over Ireland and performed well in the circumstances.

In the women’s final, Berrings Macra, Muskerry, Co. Cork took first place over Camross Macra, Laois.

In the men's final, Castlerea Macra, Co. Roscommon were victorious over Carrigaline Macra, Cork. The lads enjoyed the event and hope to back next year.

Pictured at Macra's NDC Indoor Soccer All-Ireland final are the team from Ballycoog Macra, Co. Wicklow. (Back l-r:) Lorcan Clare, Eamon Clare, Brian D'Arcy, (front l-r:) Declan Keogh and John Cullen with Macra National President, Alan Jagoe.
