Paddy Receives His Well Deserved Award!

Last Saturday night was a proud one for all Kilmacanogue club members as Paddy O'Brien was the recipient of the Wicklow GAA Club’s Club-person of the Year (pictured above). Anyone that knows Paddy will be very aware of the dedicated service he has given not just the club, but the community of Kilmacanogue in general and many were there at the awards to witness the presentation. A loud cheer was heard through the walls of the Arklow Bay Hotel when Paddy stepped up to receive his award and it is hard to imagine a more popular winner. Of course behind every great man is a great woman and in Paddy's case, he has two of them! Without casting any aspersions on “Our Paddy”, I think it was also recognition of the work Paddy's proud wife Mary does along with their great friend Sue Fox and of course they were there on the night for support. While its going back a few years now since his election, don't forget Paddy is also the Lord Mayor of Kilmacanogue so we all better congratulate the Mayor! Well done Paddy, your a true gentleman, really well respected and loved by us all in the village of Kilmacanogue and enjoy this award.
