The Avoca GAA club are holding a very important meeting in the Meetings on this Thursday 17th Jan at 8pm. There are a number of issues to be discussed. These include election of new commitee, the future of hurling within the club, and also the future of the juvenile section. The juvenile section needs more adults to join to help out with the various teams, so we hope that anybody who is interested in any way will come to this meeting to help us plan for 2013. We hope to have somebody from the juvenile County Board in attendance.

Anybody with an interest in either adult hurling or football would also be welcome to come along as more help is always welcome. Fundraising is going to be very important in 2013 as the County Board levies have been increased so we are looking for some new ideas. The speaker this month will be Catriona Leahy who will talk about the need for ferrel cats to be neutered in order to maintain their health, condition and wellbeing. She offers a service in this regard, and as ferrel cats form an important part of vermin control in farmyards this should prove to be of interest to everyone.
