With the new season getting ready to start the girls are starting training in a couple of weeks time. The club are always looking for new players and mentors, so anyone interested please contact any member of the club.
Any girls over 15 years of age would be very welcome to join the intermediate team, as we try to go one step further this year and bring some silverwear back to the village, also we would like to start a juvenile section in the camogie club, but we need mentors to help. Anybody interested please contact Kathleen Keogh or Mick Fahy on 0871372585.
The Avoca GAA club are holding a very important meeting in the Meetings on this Thursday 17th Jan at 8pm. There are a number of issues to be discussed. These include election of new commitee, the future of hurling within the club, and also the future of the juvenile section. The juvenile section needs more adults to join to help out with the various teams, so we hope that anybody who is interested in any way will come to this meeting to help us plan for 2013. We hope to have somebody from the juvenile County Board in attendance.
Anybody with an interest in either adult hurling or football would also be welcome to come along as more help is always welcome. Fundraising is going to be very important in 2013 as the County Board levies have been increased so we are looking for some new ideas. Hope to see a good turnout on Thursday night so that the club can progress in 2013. ST PAT'S 50/50 DRAW

Ballycoog Macra would like to thank all who came in support of our Christmas Card Night. We raised €330 in aid of Console. We went ice-skating on Saturday night as a club, and had a great night. We hope our February Club outing will be as much fun. Ballycoog boys represented us last Sunday in the National Indoor 5 side soccer; they played a blinder and managed to come back to us in one piece. Well done guys!! FARM FAMILY COMMITTE
A meeting of the County Wicklow IFA Farm Family Committe will take place on Tuesday, 29th January in the Woodenbridge Hotel at 8pm
The speaker this month will be Catriona Leahy who will talk about the need for ferrel cats to be neutered in order to maintain their health, condition and wellbeing. She offers a service in this regard, and as ferrel cats form an important part of vermin control in farmyards this should prove to be of interest to everyone.
New members are always welcome so why not come along and enjoy the evening.
