Daire’s poster wins na­tional award

AN AWARD-win­ning poster de­signed by an Ark­low sec­ondary school pupil is to be used as part of na­tional cam­paign to cre­ate aware­ness about the is­sues fac­ing peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties.

Gael Choláiste na Mara, Se­a­bank, Ark­low, won the ‘En­abling Ac­cess Across Gen­er­a­tions' art com­pe­ti­tion which was devel­oped by Lo­cal Author­ity Ac­cess Of­fi­cers in con­junc­tions with the Na­tional Dis­abil­ity Author­ity.

The win­ning poster was pro­duced by Daire ó Conchubar, a Tran­si­tion Year stu­dent at Gael Cho­laiste na Mara.

Daire's poster shows an eye look­ing with the text ‘At­ti­tude is the real Dis­abil­ity: Open Your Eyes'.

The poster will be used as part of all Lo­cal Author­ity in­for­ma­tion and aware­ness cam­paigns around Dis­abil­ity and Ac­cess.
