Happy 50th Eddie

LAST Saturday night saw an exodus of Kilmacanogue folk head for Rathnew to help Eddie Byrne celebrate his 50th birthday (pictured right). Despite living in Kilmacanogue for the past 20 years, the saying ‘You can take them out of Rathnew but you cannot take the Rathnew out of them’ applied, so this party was always going to take place in his hometown. However, Eddie did make a special effort to make sure the room was decorated in balloons of the colours of Rathnew and Kilmacanogue GAA Clubs so he kept everyone happy. ‘Our Eddie’ is a popular man in both communities and this was evident by the turnout on the night. Both in sport and through his Mini Digger business, where he has helped many a person out and always been so reasonable to them, he is a very well-liked and respected man. After a few years in storage, Siobhan Harvey even brought along her imaginary air-guitar for the celebrations. Best wishes for the next 50 Eddie comes from your wife Ann, son Thomas and all your family and friends.
