Re­source Cen­tre Hours: St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre is open 9am to 8.30pm Mon­day to Thurs­day and on Fri­day from 9am to 3pm. Those re­quir­ing Bap­tism / Con­fir­ma­tion cer­tifi­cates or ap­pli­ca­tion forms for Bap­tism can ob­tain them dur­ing the above hours. Please note that the Par­ish Of­fice is the only place where cer­tifi­cates and ap­pli­ca­tion forms can be pro­cessed.

Bap­tisms: Bap­tisms take place in St. Anne's Church at 12.45pm on the 1st Sun­day of the Month and at 5pm on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Satur­days of the Month. A month's no­tice is re­quired. Please con­tact the St. Anne's Par­ish Of­fice lo­cated in St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre to make your ar­range­ments. Please note that when vis­it­ing the Par­ish Of­fice to ar­range a bap­tism, the child's birth cer­tifi­cate should be brought as it nec­es­sary to pho­to­copy it for the par­ish records but it will be re­turned im­me­di­ately.

Times of Masses: Mass is cel­e­brated in St. Anne's Church at 10am and 7.30pm Mon­day to Fri­day, (ex­cept dur­ing July & Au­gust). Week­end Mass times are Satur­day 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sun­day at 8am, (9am in St. Pa­trick's Church in St. Colum­cille's Hospi­tal), 10.30am (Fam­ily Mass), 12 Noon, and 6pm. Con­fes­sions are heard on Satur­days af­ter the 10am Mass, be­tween 12.30pm and 1pm and af­ter the 6.30pm Mass.

Bethany Be­reave­ment Group:

The Bethany Be­reave­ment Group is a vol­un­tary par­ish-based min­istry who are trained to lis­ten and to help the be­reaved and griev­ing. The Group holds a Drop In Cen­tre on the First Fri­day of the Month at 10am in St, Anne's Re­source Cen­tre, and can be con­tacted via St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre by call­ing 01-282 2704.

St Anne's Par­ish Pas­toral Coun­cil Fe­bru­ary Meet­ing: Next Mon­day night the Fe­bru­ary PPC meet­ing takes place at 8pm in St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre. The St. Anne's PPC can be con­tacted any­time via the Par­ish Of­fice in St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre.

East African Mis­sion Ap­peal: The Pal­lot­tine Fa­thers wish to sin­cerely thank all those who contributed so gen­er­ously to the their re­cent ap­peal - the amount raised was €2,940.

AC­CORD: The an­nual col­lec­tion for AC­CORD, the Dioce­san Agency for Mar­riage and the Fam­ily will taken up at all this week­end's Masses and will re­place the usual Share Col­lec­tion. Please give as gen­er­ously as you can.

Pan­cake Tues­day: We will be flip­ping pan­cakes in St. Anne's Re­source Cen­tre on Tues­day Fe­bru­ary 12th from 10.30am to 12 Noon. All funds raised from this event will go to the Na­tional Chil­dren's Hospi­tal, Tal­laght. Your sup­port would be greatly ap­pre­ci­ated.

There's a change to the topic for next Wed­nes­day (Fe­bru­ary 6th) Fe­bru­ary meet­ing of the Rathmichael His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety - the lo­cal his­tory so­ci­ety for Shankill & District - as in place of the pre­vi­ously an­nounced lec­ture, Ms. Kath­leen Vil­liers-Tuth­hil will present her lec­ture 'Colony of Strangers - the found­ing and early his­tory of Clif­den - at 8pm in Rathmichael School, Stone­bridge Road (Dublin Road end), Shankill, Co. Dublin - all wel­come to at­tend.

Clif­den cel­e­brated its bi­cen­te­nary last years and lo­cal his­to­rian Kath­leen Vil­liers-Tuthill marked the event with the publi­ca­tion of her sixth book which tells how landowner John D'Arcy founded the town and so changed the char­ac­ter of the en­tire district. The story re­lates how D'Arcy's son was less in tune with the lo­cal pop­u­lace and how the town ended up in the En­cum­bered Es­tates Court.

Mem­bers of the So­ci­ety are re­minded that an­nual mem­ber­ship sub­scrip­tions fell due for re­newal on Jan­uary 1st and can be re­newed at this meet­ing. Those wish­ing to join the So­ci­ety can do so at this meet­ing. SHANKILL LI­BRARY
