Hunt is on for 2013 Wicklow Rose

THE HUNT is now on for the 2013 Wicklow Rose who will com­pete to rep­re­sent the Garden County at the In­ter­na­tional Rose of Tralee Fes­ti­val in Au­gust.

In­ter­ested com­peti­tors from across County Wicklow are in­vited to ap­ply for se­lec­tion which will cul­mi­nate in a lo­cal se­lec­tion night in Ark­low and later a re­gional event which will see them take on Roses from other coun­ties.

Wicklow co­or­di­na­tor Co­lette Mur­ray is al­ready on the look­out for po­ten­tial Roses and was scout­ing at a pro­mo­tional event at the Bridge­wa­ter Cen­tre at the week­end.

Those who are in­ter­ested sim­ply have to se­cure a spon­sor to cover the €250 reg­is­tra­tion fee and fill out the ap­pli­ca­tion form.

‘If you de­cide to en­ter the se­lec­tion I can guar­an­tee you will have a great time and it will be a won­der­ful ex­pe­ri­ence for you,' Co­lette told The Wicklow Peo­ple.
