Loreto Secondary School

Bray People - - SCHOOLS REPORT -

A huge well done to both Senior and Junior Irish debaters who took part in the Gael Linn debating competitions this week. On Tuesday night, the Senior Team, consisting of Becky Lyons, Laura O'Kelly and Sarah Conway, was superb as they proposed the motion that 'A farmer's life is wonderful'. As a result, they have gone through to teh Regional Final in late February and we wish them 'ádh mór' in their preparations. On Thursday night the Junior team, consisting of Clare Butler, Hayley Dillon and super-sub Emma Cunnane (standing in for a sick Amy Flanagan) was superb in an extremely competitve bout of the competition in Carlow. Despite a wonderful per- formance they were just pipped at the post for a place in the Regional Final. But congratulations agus mí ádh.

On Wednesday 23 January, Loreto Bray celebrated the feast day of their foundress Mary Ward with activities highlighting sweat shop exploitation and a beautiful Prayer Service for the whole school in the Sports Hall.
