Fighters slug it out for ‘Pub Box 2014’
DUBLIN PUB BOX is back again to raise money for charity this week and this year’s cause is the Jack & Jill Foundation.
The event will be on in Dandelion Bar on St. Stephen’s Green on Thursday night with some Bray fighters to battle it out in the ring.
The Martello has sponsored four fighters for the white collar boxing event and they have been training since January at the National Stadium in Dublin.
The fighters are Aoife Lewis, Barry Kiernan, Laura Carton and Alex Bursey.
‘We are delighted to be supporting this year’s Dublin Pub Box event,’ said Martello owner John Duggan.
‘Aoife, Laura, Alex and Barry have been training 4 days week since January.’
‘At the beginning it was very tough but now it's getting easier because we're getting extra training with Pete Taylor,’ said Aoife.
Doors open at 7 p.m. on the night. Tickets are priced €20 and all proceeds go to the Jack and Jill children's founda- tion. Tickets are now available at www.dublinpubbox.com
