ST. JOSEPH’S GIRLS’ N.S.

FIRST CON­FES­SIONS: The 2nd class girls made their First Con­fes­sion on 11th March. Con­grat­u­la­tions to Nan Ann O'Brien,Tia Byrne,Kelly Nolan, Lu­cia Ni­co­lai, Hollie O'Con­nor, Jade O'Lough­lin, Ella Snell, Nan Mary O'Brien, Mia Jame­son, Caitlin En­er­stad, Elisha Kenny, Ria Gre­gory, Saoirse Mitchell,Alex Mitchell, Molly Byrne, El­iz­a­beth Do­ran, Abi Con­nolly, Sasha Duffy.

SER­VICE OF LIGHT: The ser­vice of light took place on Wed­nes­day 19th March in St. Joseph's Church Rath­new.

RATH­NEW GAA: Train­ing start­ing back Satur­day morn­ings start­ing 22nd for all boys and girls aged 8 to 12 start­ing at 11.30 to 12.30pm at the pitch.

TROCÁIRE BOXES: Please re­turn the Trocáire Boxes to the school af­ter the Easter hol­i­days.

FOOT­BALL: The girls from 3rd to 6th classes are re­ceiv­ing foot­ball coach­ing on Wed­nes­day with Ed­wina. The chil­dren are en­joy­ing it as well as im­prov­ing their foot­ball skills.

WRITE A BOOK CER­E­MONY: This year's win­ners of the Write a books areAlanah Dal­ton, Saoirse Mitchell, Amy Roanan, Eva Dowling, Keita Za­gare and Shelly Carr Cul­bert. Con­grat­u­la­tion to all! The pre­sen­ta­tion cer­e­mony took place on 31st March.

SPELL­ING BEE: Co. Wick­low Spell­ing Bee com­pe­ti­tion took place in Kil­coole on Tues­day 4th March. The school was rep­re­sented by Eva Franey 6th class.

PRI­MARY DE­BAT­ING: Our dream team reached the end of the road when they were knocked out at the semi­fi­nal stage. They were one of eight teams left in the coun­try. What a won­der­ful achieve­ment from our first su­per tal­ented de­bat­ing team.

GREEN FLAG: Wed­nes­day's are walk to school days the girls started to walk to school. They meet at the GAA pitch at 8.45am and wear weather ap­pro­pri­ate cloth­ing.

ANTI-BUL­LY­ING POL­ICY: We are re­view­ing this pol­icy at present. To take ac­count of cy­ber bul­ly­ing 3rd to 6th class are con­tribut­ing by fill­ing out a con­fi­den­tial ques­tion­naire.

IN­FANTS ON RTE: Our In­fants were “stars” last Wed­nes­day when the Ju­nior Den team ar­rived to film them per­form­ing “The Teddy Bears Pic­nic” and to dis­cuss ac­tiv­i­ties around this theme. We can't wait to see them on RTE in about six weeks time.
