A fantastic winning point from Stephen King gave Enniskerry Juniors a well earned victory over Barndarrig on Saturday last. Parish Financial Update: The Parish Finance Committee is pleased to report that, thanks to the great generosity of parishioners who have supported the parish through donations and fund raising events, the parish's finances are significantly improved since last year's report. Enniskerry Heartsavers would like to say a ‘heart' felt thank you all those in the community who's donations allowed us to purchase 3 A.E.D.
One has been placed in the Powerscourt Arms Hotel, another has been placed at Curtlestown National School and the 3rd one in located at Keegan's farm near the Waterfall.
The next challenge is to pur-chase heated boxes to house the A.E.D.'s to ensure they work all year round. If you would like to help us with this next purchase please contact Pat Carey on 086-2564468. There was a very large attendance at last Thursday night's April meeting of the Enniskerry History Society takes place in the Powerscourt Arms Hotel at 8.30pm at Rob Goodbody was the guest speaker to present his lecture on ' Ballyman Northern Parts of the Powerscourt Estate.'
Today (Wednesday) members of the Society have been invited to a special 11.30am Easter Talk in Bray Library at which James Scannell, Vice-Chairman & PRO of the Bray Cualann Historical Society will recall ' Easter in Bray 100 Years (1914) '. All welcome to attend - admission free.
In May James will be the guest speaker for the monthly meeting of the Enniskerry History Society at which he will present his lecture looking at ' Enniskerry in 1914'.
Before this meeting James will be the guest speaker for the Thursday April 24th 8pm meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society in the Bray Chamber of Commerce House, 10 Prince of Wales Tce., Quinsboro Road, Bray, at which he will present his lecture on ' Saving the Drowning Sailors - The MV Kerlogue December 1943 Bay of Biscay Rescue.'
