Mayor appeals for no election posters

Bray People - - ABOUT GREYSTONES -

MAYOR Stephen Stokes has called on all election candidates in the Greystones Electoral Area to keep Greystones town centre free of election posters during the upcoming European and local election campaigns.

Mayor Stokes, who will not be running, also believes it is vital that campaign teams place posters in a safe manner and that they remove their poster cable ties following the campaign.

‘Greystones Town Council unanimously passed a resolution that candidates should keep the town centre free from posters for the entire length of Church Road and the Mill Road as far as the Town Council,’ he said.

This follows on from other elections whereby Greystones town centre has been poster free. ‘People will see enough election posters during the campaign. This initiative is about keeping the town centre as a neutral haven for local people.’

Polling day is Friday, May 23.
