Arklow Town FC appeal for action

Bray People - - SPORT -

THE WDSL have been called upon to punish Rathnew AFC for their behaviour in a recent schoolboys match.

In an U-8 match against Arklow Town, the Bridgewater Centre Park side claimed that foul and abusive language was used by the Shamrock Park club within ear shot of the players.

Rathnew have played down the reports, claiming that the incident was just a minor disagreement amongst their own managers. Michael Doyle was refereeing the match and his brother Edward Doyle was in charge of the young Villagers and they had an argument over footballs. The siblings did not intend to swear in front of the children and would like to apologise for any offence caused.

The matter is now up for decision by the WDSL.
